The Nigerian-Australian Football Association Incorporated (NAFA) is a not-for-profit community organisation based in New South Wales, dedicated to supporting men’s mental health, emotional wellbeing, fitness, and multicultural inclusion. Founded to address the growing need for safe spaces, support networks, and meaningful community connections. NAFA uses football, fitness, social activities, and cultural engagement as tools to bring people together, promote wellbeing, and strengthen community bonds.

Our programs are designed to:

  • Support men’s emotional, psychological, and physical health

  • Build confidence, belonging, and positive social relationships

  • Encourage fitness, exercise, and general wellbeing

  • Create culturally safe environments for Nigerian-Australians and all multicultural communities

  • Advocate for vulnerable or isolated community members

  • Promote leadership, cultural identity, and responsible behaviour

NAFA is driven by volunteers, supported by community partnerships, and committed to ensuring every member feels welcome, respected, and connected. We believe that when people come together—whether through conversation, culture, fitness, or football—stronger, healthier communities emerge.

Objectives and Community Impact:

1. To support and promote men’s mental health and emotional wellbeing, particularly among Nigerian-Australians and multicultural communities living in New South Wales, Australia.

2. To provide fitness, exercise, physical health and wellbeing programs designed to support men’s emotional, psychological, and physical health.

3. To foster social cohesion, connection, and community bonding through social gatherings, workshops, cultural events, and inclusive programs.

5. To support Nigerian-Australians and all multicultural communities in NSW, helping them integrate into society, access services, participate fully in community life, and feel culturally included.

6. To use football (soccer) and recreational activities as tools for community engagement, physical wellbeing, stress relief, and building social relationships.

7. To operate as a not-for-profit, charitable and community-focused organisation, with all income and assets used solely to advance the Association’s objectives and community benefit.

8. To collaborate with government, community services, health professionals, and multicultural organisations in delivering programs related to wellbeing, mental health, fitness, and social support.

9. To provide a safe, inclusive and respectful environment that promotes positive masculinity, responsible behaviour, leadership, cultural identity, and community empowerment.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to build a strong, united, and mentally healthy multicultural community in NSW, where every person, regardless of background, feels supported, connected, and empowered. We strive to create a society where men can speak openly about their struggles, families and communities stand together, and football and fitness become bridges that bring people closer.
NAFA envisions a future where no one suffers in silence, where cultural pride is celebrated, and where wellbeing, respect, and inclusion guide everything we do.

OUR MISSION

At the Nigerian-Australian Football Association (NAFA), our mission is to support men’s mental health, strengthen social cohesion, and empower individuals across NSW, especially those who feel unheard or overlooked.

We use the power of community, culture, fitness, and football to bring people together, build confidence, and create safe spaces where everyone is valued.
NAFA is committed to being the voice of the voiceless, promoting wellbeing, encouraging active lifestyles, and helping Nigerian-Australians and the wider multicultural community connect, thrive, and belong.
